Structure Summary This position reports directly to the ELDER BOARD and works closely with all ministry leaders, pastors, and support staff. This FULL/PART-time position is divided into TWO (2) roles: LEAD PASTOR and Northshore Christian Church (NCC) Staff Member. Position Summary This position is responsible for: Serving on, being accountable with, and submitting to the Elder Board in fulfillment of the stated job responsibilities to implement ministry direction, strategy, and growth. This person leads the ministries of the Church and Academy, delegating as appropriate through the other members of the Executive Team, in all aspects of NCC s vision and mission. Essential Functions Meet the scriptural requirements for being an elder (I Timothy 3 and Titus 1). Devote daily time to prayer, Bible study, and scripture memorization. Preach the Word of God for the purpose of life change, cast vision under the power of the Holy Spirit, and shepherd the leadership and congregation of Northshore Christian Church. Serve the congregation as primary preacher and teacher, presiding at the church for all regular worship services and special services. Devote primary energies to the preparation and delivery of God s Word in worship services and other ministry opportunities. Lead the vocational ministry staff and Academy staff, delegating supervisory responsibility to the Executive Pastor of Ministries for the church ministry staff, to the Head of School for the school staff, to the Director of Finance for the business staff, and to the Campus Pastor for the facilities and security staff. In conjunction with members of the Executive Team, make appropriate recommendations for staff hires and dismissals. Ensure all staff understanding, alignment, compliance and implementation of Northshore mission, vision, values, ministry strategy, and doctrinal statement to implement and accomplish ministerial goals. This includes understanding of policy and procedures. Invest time in the Academy, including chapels, prayer time with students and staff, and Academy employee engagement. Fiscal and financial responsibility for budget performance of the organization. Display thorough knowledge and application of relational discipleship within all Northshore ministries and programs. Focus on, and be personally involved in, discipleship as modeled by Jesus in the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. Northshore practices relational discipleship as the primary focus of ministry throughout the organization. Support and maintain the need for life groups as a result of the relational discipleship model of Northshore. Focus on outreach by supporting missions and connections by placing a focus on each of these. Maintain a very close relationship and liaison with the Elder Board on a formal and informal basis. Display thorough knowledge and application of evangelism within all Northshore ministries and programs. Meet weekly with Executive Team under direct supervision to discuss business issues, develop leadership, ensure accountability, direction, and provide encouragement. Set an example by being involved in community based activities. Participate in outside speaking opportunities and appropriate functions that will enhance church growth, with the approval of the Elder Board. Skill Requirements Leadership experience in team and relationship building. Experience and ability to mentor others in goal setting. Excellent listening and speaking skills with diverse groups of people within Northshore Christian Church and Academy communities. Maintain confidentiality when discussing personal issues, sharing specifics with appropriate parties, such as law enforcement, to ensure safety of individuals. Working knowledge of budgets, financial statements, and capital plans. Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure issues are handled in a God-honoring manner. Ability to effectively problem-solve and troubleshoot difficult situations. Capability to lead and direct others, to plan, facilitate, and lead effective meetings, to lead quality improvement efforts, to exercise sound judgment in decisions, and to demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and job assignment. Technical Skills

  • Knowledge, experience, and/or willingness to learn necessary computer hardware/software skills (e.
g., word processing, e-mail, internet) required for this position, as well as the basic functionality of organizational tools for productivity and communication (e.g. Slack) Experiential/Educational Requirements B.A. or B.S. degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, or Divinity. Master's Degree preferred. Equivalent work in church-related experience will be considered. Six years' experience in a Lead/Senior or Executive Pastor role preferred. Attendance & Membership Requirements The employee must actively participate in onsite corporate worship and become a member of Northshore Christian Church within six (6) months of their date of hire. Physical Requirements Regularly required to talk, hear, and sit. Must be able to move about the campus and buildings. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
