Job Description

Accountability:
All employees assist the Pastor in working toward our mission to Glorify God, proclaim the Gospel, and form disciples who love, live and serve like Jesus Christ. This position is accountable to the Pastor for liturgy and faith formation duties, and the Director of Operations for administrative and office duties
Purpose:
To provide quality faith formation and sacramental preparation for the youth of the parish.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assures a hospitable and welcoming presence for parish visitors. Provides general information for people calling or visiting the parish. Provides general support and back up for front desk and administrative assistance when needed or assigned. Assures the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for youth programming including youth group, service projects, conferences, and retreats. Assures the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for Sacramental preparation including: First Reconciliation, First Communion, OCIC and Confirmation preparation. Directs the Sacramental Preparation programs for children for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, OCIC and Youth Confirmation Preparation programs. Help plan liturgies for those sacraments. Support and update parents to aid their sacramental journey. Participate in recruiting volunteers necessary to ensure the safety of all the participants in Sacramental Preparation and youth programs as well as recruiting and developing volunteers who can effectively witness the faith to the children and youth of the parish. Responsibly steward of the parish's resources and manage applicable budgets in collaboration with Pastor. Participate in deanery events with colleagues from other parishes and work to ensure a reasonable degree of continuity with nearby parishes. Maintain a current level of knowledge and skills required to function as an assistant for Sacramental Preparation and Youth Ministry. Use ParishStaq for communicating with participants, help parishioners use ParishStaq for registration, forms and other needs. Performs other duties as assigned for the Pastor, Vicar or DOO. A practicing Catholic in good standing who can serve as a faithful witness to others, proclaiming the Gospel and sharing the teachings of the Catholic Church. Ability to collaborate with others and communicate effectively. Ability to pass background check and be in compliance with the Safe Environment program. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
