Job Description
The Assistant Director position is an exempt position and reports to the Center Director. The Assistant Director's primary responsibility is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children in the center's care while offering piece of mind to their parents.
Basic Job requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver's license
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Associate's degree in areas of Child Development, Early Childhood Education, related field, or Business degree and experience in school administration
- Minimum of 1 to 3 year management experience in a childcare facility
- Able to meet all Federal and State requirements for the childcare industry Essential Job Functions
- Assist Center Director in all aspects of center function.
Including:
staffing, training, supervising, hiring, disciplinary procedures, maintenance of building and purchasing supplies- Understands center goals. Operates within budget parameters as provided by supervisor Ensures compliance in all local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations
- Maintains contact and good relations with parents and company officers
- Assist in maintaining the facilities and equipment
- Assist in conducting staff meetings and personnel training sessions
- Assist in scheduling personnel and their work assignments
- Assist in keeping all center records and accounts up to date and organized
- Assist in making deposits of center funds
- Meets periodically with corporate officials
- Assist in supervising staff in all work functions, acts as a role model and encourages staff professionalism
- Enhances personal skills by study, attendance of training sessions, conferences and professional workshops
- Keeps Director and company officials informed of business, staffing and parent concerns or problems
- Assists in classrooms as needed
- Assists in planning summer and winter break field trips
- Assist in going out to current and potential clients to promote the program
- When appropriate, visits other centers to observe
- Performs related work or other tasks as assigned by the
