Job Description
POSITION STATUS
ExemptSALARY RANGE
$38,000-43,000 This is the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary offered will depend on a candidate's experience and education, and departmental budget.Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Supervision Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates Resident Advisor (RA) staff for two residential communities. Promotes RA visibility and proactive community engagement throughout the residential facilities. Maintains regular office hours to ensure accessibility to residents and staff. Crisis Management & Student Conduct Participates in the 24/7/365 on-call emergency response rotation. Serves as a Student Conduct Officer, managing lower-level violations of the Student Code of Conduct and Housing Contract while maintaining accurate student records. Provides conflict mediation, crisis intervention, and appropriate follow-up referrals for residential students. Operations & Programming Oversees all building programming initiatives, collaborating with campus partners to advance student success. Manages administrative tasks including check-in/out processes, room changes, and key distribution. Ensures compliance with federal regulations, including the Clery Act, FERPA, Title IX, and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act. Other Responsibilities Supports mission, vision and values of Elmhurst University. Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement. Performs other duties and completes special projects as needed and assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. At least one year of professional experience in college/university housing and residence life. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student body; strong interpersonal and mediation skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required by the live-on nature of the role. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Student Affairs or Higher Education. Experience with housing and conduct software (e.g., StarRez, Maxient). Crisis management or student conduct experience at a small to mid-size institution. A proven track record of collaborative teamwork and exceptional service to campus partners.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements The essential functions of this position are primarily performed in an indoor setting with limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is often sedentary in nature and requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods. Required abilities include speaking and hearing for in-person and virtual communication, using close and distance vision when reading documents or viewing screens, and performing tasks with repetitive fine motor skills. Work may require occasional lifting, bending, carrying, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
