Lived experience is defined as personal experience in this instance, and does not extend to experience with friends and family members. Job Summary Join our dedicated nonprofit team as a Recovery Residence Residential Support Staff, where your compassion, lived experience, and proactive support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance use in a structured home-like environment. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support, ensure safety and program adherence, and promote independence within a nonclinical peer-led residential environment. You will help create a nurturing space that fosters recovery, growth, and well-being for residents. Residential Support Staff work at both recovery residence locations (Marquette and Ishpeming) of Superior Connection's Men's Recovery Residences in Marquette County. Both houses are single-gender (male), hold 4 residents, and are
MARR/NARR
Level III certified. Residential Support Staff work to support both the Program Supervisor and residents in a recovery-centered environment. This role combines peer-based recovery support with day-to-day house management responsibilities to ensure a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented living space. Please note this position may also include assisting Superior Connections in opening a third Recovery Residence location (in the same area) for women, with the same job requirements. Key Duties Peer Recovery Support Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating healthy recovery behaviors and boundaries Provide peer-based recovery support and encouragement to residents Assist residents in maintaining progress with individualized recovery plans Facilitate or co-facilitate house meetings, recovery check-ins, and goal-setting sessions Encourage participation in recovery supports and program requirements such as mutual aid meetings, outpatient treatment, employment, volunteerism, and community resources Support residents during crises and escalate concerns appropriately Provide occasional transportation to evening mutual aid meetings, if requested/desired House Management Provide oversight and support to the Resident House Manager Enforce house rules, policies, and expectations consistently and fairly Conduct drug and alcohol screenings as required Monitor resident compliance with program requirements such as curfews, chores, meetings, employment, fee payment, and treatment requirements Address conflicts between residents using trauma-informed and recovery-focused approaches Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and resident records using the Behave Health system Coordinate admissions, orientations, and discharges when applicable Operations & Safety Ensure the house remains clean, safe, and well-maintained Oversee chore schedules and shared responsibilities Communicate maintenance or safety concerns to leadership promptly Respond to emergencies according to established protocols Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times Qualifications & Requirements Lived experience in recovery (required, minimum 1 year preferred) Strong understanding of substance use disorders and recovery pathways Experience working in peer support, recovery housing, or behavioral health preferred Ability to set and maintain healthy boundaries Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills Basic computer and documentation skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required) Background check and drug screening (required,

results on a background check do not automatically disqualify a candidate) Preferred Certifications Peer Recovery Coach or equivalent (or willingness to obtain, required) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Mental Health First Aid Suicide Prevention Other trainings and certificates as assigned Work Environment Work occurs on-site at two Recovery Residence locations (Marquette/Ishpeming), a non-clinical residential setting Work may include a third site (Marquette), TBD Weekly meetings with leadership/staff at Superior Connections office location (Marquette) Occasional off-site work involving events and/or mutual aid meetings (varied, all within Marquette County) Recovery-focused, structured living environment May require on-call availability, evenings, or weekends presence Emotional resilience and professionalism required Join us in creating a supportive community where residents feel valued and empowered. Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour

This job requires working at two recovery residence locations operated by SCRCO. One house is located in Marquette and the other is in Ishpeming. Are you willing and able to work at and travel to both sites? Superior Connections may begin Recovery Residence operations at a third location serving women. Are you able and willing to also work at a women's recovery residence in the Marquette area? Superior Connections often attends and hosts community events (educational, recreational, and outreach) as part of our mission. Would you be interested in participating in helping to plan and work events as an occasional job duty? Are you able to work evening hours and weekends? This does NOT include overnight shifts. NO overnight shifts are required.
