Residential Assistant Room At The Inn, Inc - 3.8 Greensboro, NC Job Details Part-time $17.50 - $21.00 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Food handling House cleaning assistance Household management Driver's License Bachelor's degree Food preparation Clean workspace maintenance Passenger van operation Full Job Description Overview Room At The Inn is a Christian ministry which provides housing and programs for homeless, pregnant women and families with children experiencing from homelessness or poverty. As an organization Licensed by the State of NC to provide residential maternity shelter and accredited by the Council on Accreditation, we are proudly expanding our programs and services. We are looking for a mission-driven, empathetic and dedicated Residential Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for caring for our mothers and children.
Schedule:
Wednesday 8 AM - 7 PM Friday 8 AM - 7 PM May need to work other days, nights, or weekends We will only consider applicants who: 1) Can pass an extensive background check; 2) Have a valid driver's license; 3) Meet all state licensing requirements to work in a residential facility; 4) Have the ability to work with diverse populations, independently and responsibly; 5) Have 4-year degree and 2 years' experience as staff in residential facility; 6) Childcare or CNA experience required; 7) Must be able to cook simple meals and do housekeeping duties; 8) Must be at least 21 years old due to licensing requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Assists in the fulfillment of the mission of Room At The Inn and exercises good stewardship in all task and activities
  • Assists the Residential Supervisor with residential responsibilities
  • Provides vacation and sick time relief for the Residential Supervisor and is on-call for emergencies as assigned
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment for the residents
  • Directing children in eating, resting and toileting
  • Buys household items and groceries as necessary and determines the need for maintenance, repairs and furnishings for the facility and the agency vehicles
  • Maintains daily activity and medicine logs . Food Prep and/or cook meals and meal clean-up as necessary
  • Teaches Parenting and Childcare Life Skills classes to residents
  • Fully participates in all Performance and Quality Improvement activities

Residential Supervisor Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and two years with demonstrated competence and experience in human services or demonstrated success as a staff member in a residential program. Childcare Credential a plus. Must meet state maternity home licensure requirements. Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population. Must be able to drive a van, help with meal preparation, work within a budget and have parenting and childcare knowledge.
Key Measures:
  • Timely creation of documents and reports;
  • Teaching Skills (one-on-one and small group); . Professional, cordial relationship with the clients;
  • Maintenance of an orderly, clean and safe service delivery environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to read and write. Must be able to hear normal conversations. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to conduct visual inspections. Must be able to speak clearly. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to drive a car or van.
Other Requirements:
Must be willing to work overtime, on weekends and at nights as necessary.
