Group Home Counselor- overnights and weekends Nova Family Outreach Winston-Salem, NC Job Details Part-time $16 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Teamwork Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License Group home experience Full Job Description As a Residential Counselor, you will provide hands-on support, supervision, and mentorship to male youth ages 13-17 with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs within a Level III group home. This role helps maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and trauma-informed environment while building positive relationships with youth that encourage accountability, emotional growth, independence, and healthy behavior. 12-hour overnight and weekend shifts available. Primary Responsibilities Supervise and support youth within the residential program Assist with daily living skills, routines, meals, chores, and community activities Support implementation of treatment plans and behavioral interventions Promote positive peer interactions and emotional regulation Transport youth to appointments and approved activities Maintain awareness and documentation of youth whereabouts and safety Respond appropriately to crises and emergencies Complete daily documentation, logs, and incident reports Communicate effectively with supervisors and the clinical team Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Experience working with adolescents with behavioral, emotional, mental health, or trauma-related needs preferred. Experience in residential treatment, juvenile services, behavioral health, education, child welfare, or related settings preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and positive behavior support preferred. Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in high-stress situations Strong communication and teamwork skills Valid North Carolina Driver's License and ability to pass a background check
