We are seeking competent Community Assistants to support the daily operation of the residence hall offices during the Fall 2026 - Spring 2027 academic year. Based on needs and talents, this position will assist with graphic design, social media influence, office coverage, answering questions from students and parents, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working student worker able to undertake a variety of tasks, be detail-oriented and creative, use discretion, exude confidence in making decisions, and work well under pressure. The qualified candidate will be able to prioritize their work and will rise to the challenge of incorporating new and effective strategies to achieve the best results. The Residential Education Community Assistant (CA) position at The New School is a position for the duration of the academic year beginning Monday, September 7, 2026 and ending Friday, May 14, 2027. Community Assistants may be asked to work over University Breaks, including but not limited to Winter Break and Spring Break. Community Assistants incoming for the academic year will need to take part in CA Training as scheduled by your supervisor. CAs are required to work a minimum of 10 hours and cannot exceed a maximum of 15 office hours per week. Hours may include weekends if coverage is needed of the office and a CA is available to work. Additionally, hours must be worked between 9 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.
