Residence Building Advisor
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a live-in role in an under-18 or over - 18 student residence. You will be based on the same Building as your assigned students, and safeguarding sits at the center of everything you do. It is a role that comes with real responsibility; you are a trusted adult in the daily life of students who are away from home, often for the first time, and it suits someone who is mature, reliable, and genuinely good with people. RESPONSIBILITIES
Your Responsibilities Live on the same floor as your assigned students and be a dependable, approachable presence during every shift Carry out welfare checks and room checks throughout your shift Conduct curfew checks to ensure all under-18 students are in their rooms on time Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and in line with EF policy Build positive relationships with your students and contribute to a safe, welcoming floor environment Be present every Sunday for arrivals shifts to welcome new students and help them feel comfortable from day one Be present for departure shift to say goodbye to leaving students Organize a Mentor meeting twice per month, connecting with our long-term students. Conduct three student evaluations throughout their stay, Eval 1 at the start, Eval 2 at the midpoint, and Eval 3 at the end Meet your KPIs and work towards your assigned OKRs as part of the wider residence team Be able to support students with questions about their experiences, including rules, conduct, and basic knowledge of academics A leader who understands the value of a customer-focused approach and can communicate that expectation clearly with other staff.
Shift Hours:
8:00 PM-12:00 AM Various Sat and Sunday hours Overnight on call when holding the phone
QUALIFICATIONS
What We Are Looking For A responsible and mature individual who takes full ownership of their role and always upholds a high standard of conduct Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people, with a clear understanding of the duty of care and safeguarding obligations involved Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, approachable manner that fosters trust among students and colleagues Well organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities concurrently while maintaining attention to detail A results-oriented mindset with the ability to work towards clearly defined KPIs and OKRs Prior experience in youth work, education, or a residential setting is advantageous
