Job Description
We are a residential facility looking to hire full-time and part-time Resident Advisors.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED. Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License and be insurable. Reliable transportation. Positive attitude, and the aptitude to complete various assigned tasks. Open availability, and a willingness to work around a schedule that is subjected to changes and working additional hours as needed. Must have the ability to effectively work well with diverse groups of contacts, including employees, clientele, and external associates of the agency. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to walk around at various times throughout work shift.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) months experience in a security position or relevant environment. Proficient in charting, filing, and Microsoft Office. Routinely documents each clients' whereabouts by completing shift reports, headcounts, individual logs, violation reports, and FYI reports. Keeps facility in clean and operable condition, and checks for safety of all areas. Attends scheduled trainings and maintains required number of annual training hours. Facilitates and maintains productive communication while maintaining a professional, prosocial relationship with clients and employees. Expresses empathy regarding client situations as appropriate. Recognizes antisocial thinking and behaviors. Addresses them immediately, positively, and in a non-threatening manner. Acknowledges clients' prosocial behaviors and generates a reward report if warranted. De-escalates potentially volatile situations between clients when necessary, utilizing cognitive-based intervention strategies. Intervenes as necessary to protect clients from injuring other clients, staff, and/or themselves according to policy. Assists clients in role playing difficult situations to achieve a more positive result. Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Utilize cognitive behavior techniques, in order to foster and promote positive and productive thinking and interpersonal skills. Engage with clients on an ongoing basis, utilizing cognitive behavioral techniques and cognitive behavior change tools (e.g., role playing, mirroring, reflecting), participate in prosocial engagement and activities with clients; foster and promote healthy decision-making, positive and productive lifestyle perspective for resident clients. Assists clients in efforts to problem solve. Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of social learning. Monitors clients visitation periods. Terminates visitation according to program procedures as necessary. Administering drug screenings in accordance with agency policy and procedures. Assigning and supervising facility job duties of clients. Supervising daily activities of clients including signing in-and-out of facility, recreation, self- help meetings, community service, and mealtimes. Conducting searches, (i.e., pat searches, dorm rooms, cars, etc.) in accordance with Agency policy and procedure. Completes confiscated property log when property is returned. Follow chain of custody for contraband. Completes alcohol sensor tests and collects urine specimens in accordance with Agency policy and procedure. Facilitate scheduled fire drills, disaster drills, and emergency procedures. Providing clients with prescribed medication and accurately maintaining related records. Immediately report any discrepancies to Supervisor and/or Program Director. Transporting clients to and from the Institution or County Jail, community events, appointments, etc. Completes pass calls and documents outcome as required by program procedures. Conducts client releases. Completes all paperwork and activities required by policy and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of client files and individual client logs. Documents unusual activity, vandalism, maintenance issues, injuries, and medical concerns as needed. Notifies appropriate supervisor as necessary. Fills in at other facilities as needed and/or directed by a facility supervisor. Remaining at post until relieved by another employee. May be required to work additional hours. Maintains telephone coverage during hours on duty. Complete departmental reports and documents as necessary Effectively communicates emergency situations in a timely manner to co-workers and a facility supervisor as required. Completes required documentation in an accurate timely manner. Ensure outside individuals, visitors, guests, public law enforcement and safety personnel sign the appropriate documents (e.g., sign-in sheets, confidentiality agreements, etc.) Asks for identification when necessary (e.g., attorney, clergy, visitors). Pats down, wands, and searches individuals as necessary. Notifies a facility supervisor immediately when law enforcement officers and/or fire department, EMS personnel are called to the facility. Issues an accurate receipt for all cash drop offs. Maintains security of drop off items until client receives them and distributes form upon completion. Adhere to policies and procedures for departmental responsibilities not limited to unusual incidents, AWOL reporting, arrests, etc. Immediately inventories, packs, and secures property of AWOL, terminated, and hospitalized clients with another Re-Entry Specialist/employee present at all times. Performing other duties as assigned. .Job Types:
