Job Description
The Area Coordinator (AC) position is a live-in, 10 month position (July 15-May 15) in our Residence Life Department. Under the supervision and guidance of the Director of Residence Life, ACs play a critical role within the residential community as mentors, advisors, and co-curricular educators for Resident Assistants (RAs), Assistant Area Coordinators (AACs), and residents, helping to deliver our Be Known Promise to all students at George Fox. Residence Life's departmental mission is " fostering shalom in a culture of chaos ." As a Christ-centered community, Residence Life at George Fox is committed to a culture of civility, respect, and inclusivity amidst the ever-increasing chaos surrounding our students. As a department, we value diversity in our student leaders. It is imperative that the Area Coordinator recognizes and appreciates the multitude of people and perspectives that exist in our work, including racially/ethnically marginalized students, dominant culture students, first-generation students, and international students. The AC functions as part of a team responsible for the overall strategic coordination of student success and university-wide retention efforts through fulfillment of this mission.
