Job Description

We are seeking to add a local Residential Assistant Superintendent to our growing and talented high-end custom home division, Phillip Wentzel Custom Homes. This position requires the individual to be construction minded, highly organized, and work independently. Objectives of this Role Alongside the Superintendent you will manage the day-to-day on-site construction operations which includes working in both new construction, remodels, and sometimes in occupied homes. Effectively communicate and support clients, project team, subcontractors and pick up tools when needed. The purpose of this position is to work alongside a Superintendent for up to five months, progressively assuming responsibility for assigned duties and transitioning to independently managing those responsibilities. Responsibilities Read and interpret job specs and plans to ensure a quality project is completed on time and within budget Review and coordinate project plans and specifications at the job site Assist in conducting inventory of materials, anticipate needs and requirements and continually coordinate with the project manager for uninterrupted flow of materials to maintain the work schedule Assist in upholding the project to schedule and budget Ensure safety by having a full understanding of all OSHA requirements and compliance Permit supervision including scheduling inspections and meeting with inspectors on site Create work logs on a daily basis Ability to perform small carpentry work if needed Guarantee overall quality and workmanship Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Local travel to job sites weekly 5+ years of experience in residential and/or maintenance/laborer work Experience in managing a jobsite and/or project Ability to use a hammer, safely operate power tools, and other carpentry equipment Knowledge of building codes and safety procedures Must have a valid Driver's License with a good motor vehicle record Clear written and verbal communication skills Physical Requirements To complete this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: Climbing a ladder Walking on uneven surfaces Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs Being on your feet for up to 6 hours a day Using carpentry tools and equipment necessary to perform tasks Loading and unloading equipment and material Sitting, standing, seeing and verbally communicating We are an equal-opportunity employer, promoting a cooperative, team-oriented environment and empowering all employees to deliver the best in quality service for our clients. #PWCareers
