HARRIS CENTER
") is looking for a Residential Specialist to join our team. The Residential Specialist provides direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) residing in Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF). This role ensures the health, safety, and wellbeing of residents by assisting with daily living activities, implementing individualized service plans, and promoting independence and community integration. Travel required.
Your role in action:
Medication monitoring Documents and maintains records on consumers. Communicates progress and information on consumers to treatment team. Provides transportation. Assist with care of residential facility. Complies with all regulations according to state agency standards. Support residents in participating in recreational, social, and community activities to enhance quality of life and promote inclusion. Performs other related duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
Education:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience:
Must have (2) years related experience and be able to transport in agency or personal vehicle.
Other Key Requirements:
Valid Texas Driver's License required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to interact effectively within the organization. The person must be flexible and punctual. Must be able to demonstrate both verbal and written communication skills. Must possess problem solving and interpersonal skills. The person must be able to demonstrate knowledge of state agency's guidelines and standards.
