JOB DESCRIPTION
Resident Support Specialist Liberation Veteran Services (LVS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe haven exclusively for veterans in crisis. LVS is committed to working with veterans while treating them with the dignity and respect they deserve. The goal of the program is to support veterans in transitioning into and leading productive, fulfilling lives within the community. The Residential Support Specialist is a key member of the LVS team responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment for all veterans in the program, serving as a central point of engagement and accountability to ensure resident interactions and program expectations are carried out consistently and professionally. The ideal candidate is attentive, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining awareness of resident behavior, safety, and overall program flow, playing a critical role in supporting clients, reinforcing program structure, and contributing to a respectful, stable, and well-managed living environment.

Evening Program Manager General

- Maintain active and consistent presence in common areas
- Engage with residents in a respectful, professional manner
- Build rapport while maintaining appropriate boundaries

- Enforce program rules consistently and fairly across all residents
- Monitor resident movement and ensure accountability throughout the shift
- Ensure all residents sign in and out of the building in accordance with program guidelines
- Actively engage with residents as they enter and exit the building to promote accountability and awareness
- Address discrepancies in sign-in/sign-out procedures in real time and report concerns as needed
- Ensure all resident room doors remain open between the hours of 8:00 AM - 11:00 PM in accordance with program guidelines
- At 11:00 PM, ensure all resident doors are closed to support quiet hours and program structure
- Conduct routine room checks to ensure compliance with program expectations
- Address and redirect residents respectfully if expectations are not being followed
- Requires standing, walking, and active monitoring throughout the shift
- May include evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts Safety & Environment
- Ensure a safe and secure living environment at all times
- Conduct routine building checks and safety rounds
- Conduct bag checks in accordance with program policy
- Monitor for safety concerns, conflicts, or behavioral issues
- Respond appropriately to incidents and escalate when necessary Documentation & Communication
- Complete detailed and accurate shift reports
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding resident status and concerns
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communication Professional Conduct
- Maintain professionalism at all times
- Demonstrate respect, patience, and consistency
- Avoid favoritism and treat all residents fairly
- Be receptive to feedback, coaching, and direction
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma/GED required Associate and bachelor's degree in human services or related field, a plus 1+ years' experience in homeless services or previous experience in a residential setting, human services, or related field (Required) Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals in crisis, (Required) Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) a plus Trauma Informed Care, CPR and First Aid Certification, a plus

$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
