Residential Support Specialist- Day Shift (7am-3pm) Step Above Counseling Services LLC Richmond, VA Job Details Full-time $16 - $18 an hour 23 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED First Aid Certification Organizational skills Full Job Description We are seeking compassionate and reliable Residential Support Specialists (RSS) to support clients in our 3.1 Clinically Managed Low-Intensity Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program . RSS's play a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented environment for individuals working toward sobriety and independent living. We are currently seeking to fill our afternoon shifts (7am-3pm). Hours per week may vary each week; there is no guarantee of 40 hours per week. Under the supervision of clinical and program leadership, the RSS will assist residents with daily living activities, reinforce recovery goals, monitor program compliance, and provide supportive guidance while maintaining program structure. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about behavioral health, recovery support, and helping individuals rebuild their lives. Key Responsibilities Provide daily supervision and support to residents in a structured residential recovery environment. Monitor client participation in program schedules, house activities, and recovery-focused routines . Assist residents with daily living skills , including hygiene routines, meal preparation, housekeeping, and community responsibilities. Help maintain a safe, supportive, and substance-free environment within the residence. Observe and document client behaviors, participation, and any significant changes in functioning or mood. Communicate relevant client updates to clinical staff and program leadership to support continuity of care. Support residents in developing healthy routines, accountability, and independent living skills . Facilitate or assist with recovery-oriented activities , house meetings, and structured group activities as assigned. Conduct routine safety checks and room checks in accordance with program policies. Ensure residents adhere to program rules, curfews, and expectations . Assist with transportation coordination, appointment reminders, and community integration activities when appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely shift notes, incident reports, and program documentation . Respond appropriately to crisis situations or behavioral concerns , following established program protocols. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, or residential care preferred CPR/First Aid certification (REQUIRED) 32 HOUR
