Performs inspections and assists with move-ins and facility programming.
Non-Exempt Position Summary Massanutten Academy seeks an energetic, disciplined, and student-centered Male Trainer Advisor Coach (TAC) to serve as a mentor, advisor, supervisor, and role model for male cadets residing on campus. The Male TAC plays a vital role in fostering a safe, structured, disciplined, and supportive residential environment while promoting leadership, accountability, academic success, and personal growth. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to positively influence young people in a college-preparatory boarding school environment. The successful candidate will build meaningful relationships with cadets while maintaining high standards of discipline, professionalism, and student welfare. Essential ResponsibilitiesCadet Supervision Supervise male cadets in the residence hall during assigned shifts. Maintain accountability for assigned cadets at all times. Conduct room inspections and ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with Academy standards. Monitor student behavior and consistently enforce Academy policies. Patrol residence halls and campus facilities regularly to ensure safety and accountability. Promote a secure, respectful, and positive residential environment. Mentorship & Student Development Serve as a trusted mentor and positive adult role model. Coach cadets in leadership, character development, responsibility, and personal accountability. Provide guidance in academics, organization, time management, and decision-making. Encourage integrity, teamwork, self-discipline, and respect. Assist cadets with conflict resolution and interpersonal challenges. Foster resilience, confidence, maturity, and leadership skills. Residential Life Assist with morning, evening, overnight, and weekend routines. Enforce wake-up, lights-out, and daily schedules. Monitor attendance and accountability. Assist with student arrivals, departures, and weekend activities. Support a positive residential community that promotes personal responsibility. Discipline & Conduct Enforce Academy rules and expectations consistently and fairly. Document disciplinary incidents and maintain accurate duty logs. Report student concerns promptly to supervisors. Apply corrective action respectfully while promoting growth and accountability. Safety & Emergency Response Respond appropriately to student emergencies. Administer basic first aid until medical personnel arrive (if certified). Follow Academy emergency procedures for fire, severe weather, illness, accidents, and campus security incidents. Report safety concerns immediately. Communication Work collaboratively with faculty, TAC staff, counselors, coaches, nurses, and administrators. Communicate professionally with parents and guardians when directed. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Attend staff meetings and required professional development. Campus Involvement Participate in Academy activities including: Athletic competitions Parades and ceremonies Awards programs Parent weekends Graduation Special campus events Participate in evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday duty assignments as scheduled. Qualifications High school diploma required. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with adolescents strongly preferred. Background in education, coaching, residential life, military, youth development, law enforcement, or leadership preferred. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to successfully complete state and federal background checks. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
