Job Description

Overview Rock Point School is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and compassionate Residential Educator to join our residential life team. This is a highly relational, hands-on role where you will live and work alongside students, supporting their daily routines, personal growth, and social-emotional development. You'll play a key role in creating a safe, respectful, and well-functioning community—modeling positive behavior, maintaining shared spaces, and helping students develop responsibility, independence, and accountability.
Duties:
Student Safety & Residential Life Supervise students and maintain awareness of their whereabouts during non-academic hours Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and study hall Attend meals, take attendance, and distribute medications Conduct nightly room checks, secure campus, and provide overnight coverage Respond to student needs, including crisis situations, with care and professionalism Lead emergency procedures and participate in drills Student Development & Community Building Build strong, respectful relationships with students and model positive communication Teach and reinforce daily living skills, social awareness, and personal responsibility Support students in meeting individual goals and community expectations Foster a positive dorm culture that encourages inclusion, accountability, and growth Help guide peer relationships and support students' emotional development Programming & Daily Life Plan and facilitate: Floor meetings, support groups, and wellness classes Weekend activities and outings (within budget) Supervise study hall, evening routines, and student responsibilities Organize and lead work crews (kitchen, floors, common areas), modeling participation and care for shared spaces Conduct room checks and teach cleaning and organizational skills Provide snacks, track attendance, and support daily routines Lead sports and wellness programming Advising & Communication Advise and mentor 1-3 students Meet weekly and support goal-setting Communicate regularly with families Write mid-year and end-of-year reports Maintain clear, timely communication through logs and email Collaborate closely with faculty, residential staff, and administration Participate in weekly meetings, in-services, and school-wide events Community Engagement & Additional Responsibilities Plan and support school traditions, events, and trips (e.g., holidays, prom, camping) Build connections with local organizations and opportunities for students Coach teams or support extracurricular activities Help manage responsible student technology use Assist with maintaining shared spaces, bulletin boards, and minor repairs Contribute to a clean, organized, and welcoming campus environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred Experience working with adolescents preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Organized, dependable, and proactive Flexible and comfortable in a dynamic, residential setting Ability to balance structure with empathy and humor This is more than a residential role—it's an opportunity to be deeply involved in a transformative school community. Pay:
$36,000.00 per year
