Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Resident Assistant on AFTERNOON or
MIDNIGHT
Shift, and become a vital part of enhancing the quality of life for residents in a caring, supportive environment. In this role, you will provide compassionate assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with developmental disabilities, and residents requiring memory or dementia care. Your energetic and proactive approach will help foster a safe, engaging, and respectful community where residents feel valued and supported every day. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your caregiving skills in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs to ensure residents' health and well-being are maintained Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, employing behavior management techniques to promote safety and comfort Provide companionship and social engagement to foster a positive community atmosphere Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining cleanliness in resident areas to promote hygiene and safety Document resident interactions, health updates, and care activities Qualifications Prior experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, retirement homes, or personal care homes is highly preferred Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous Familiarity with assisting with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care techniques Ability to operate Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids safely Strong communication skills to effectively support residents' needs and collaborate with team members Compassionate attitude combined with patience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to caregiving Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every resident feels cared for and respected.
