Job Description
Recovery Coach II Momentum | Residential Treatment Program Help Others Build a Foundation for Lasting Recovery Are you passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use and mental health challenges? Momentum is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Recovery Coach II to join our residential treatment team. In this role, you will provide direct support to residents, promote a safe and structured recovery environment, and serve as a mentor to newer staff members while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. What You'll Do As a Recovery Coach II, you will: Support residents with daily living activities and recovery goals. Build positive, therapeutic relationships with individuals in treatment. Facilitate educational, recreational, and life skills groups. Assist with resident admissions, intake interviews, and treatment planning. Monitor resident behavior, safety, and treatment plan compliance. Provide supportive counseling under clinical supervision. Recognize and respond to behavioral health crises using de-escalation techniques. Coordinate care with internal teams and outside providers. Complete accurate documentation and maintain resident records. Transport residents to appointments and community activities. Assist with medication observation under nursing supervision. Perform vital signs, breathalyzer testing, and urine drug screenings. Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic residential environment. Mentor and assist with onboarding new Recovery Coaches. Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing training. Qualifications Applicants must meet one of the following: High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of behavioral health experience; or Bachelor's degree in any field plus 3 years of behavioral health experience; or Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field plus 2 years of behavioral health experience; or Completion of a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) training program plus 2 years of behavioral health experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a residential substance use disorder treatment program. Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certification. Experience with case management or care coordination. Previous mentoring or training experience. Knowledge of recovery-oriented care and 12-Step principles. Experience using electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has: A passion for helping individuals in recovery.
