Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth & Adult Intervention Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with children and families to provide support, guidance, and resources aimed at improving their overall well-being. This role involves collaborating with educators, social workers, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized intervention plans that address the unique needs of each child.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identify appropriate youth to participate in the project based on targeted characteristics. 2 . Recruit and retain project youth by providing access to job skills training, information, resources, prosocial-recreation activities, role modeling, and encouragement. 3 . Provide outreach services, including street, home, and institutional contacts with project youth. 4 . Manage a caseload of clients. 5 . Serve as an advocate for project youth in securing social services, education, and job-related opportunities; providing information about services; and assessing needs.

. Assess the needs of family members as related to the targeted youths' gang involvement, identify gang-affected siblings of target participants, and make referrals to appropriate services. 7 . Provide information on available services for participants' family members. 8 . Provide appropriate referrals and follow-up to ensure that targeted youth are aware and able to access services. 9 . Plan and attend social and recreational activities for the targeted youth. 10 . Maintain records of contacts with youth and write reports on the status of clients. 11 . Identify community resources to assist in the implementation of the project. 12 . Complete documentation paperwork as required for contacts with youth and services provided to target youth on a timely basis. 13 . Maintain communication with probation officers regarding probation-referred clients. 14 . Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma/ G.E.D. 3 + yrs Supervisor experience Strong conflict management skills with the ability to mediate disputes effectively. Proven ability to educate and mentor children in various settings. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with families and professionals. A genuine passion for helping children succeed in overcoming challenges.
