Full-time, Hourly Position Summary:
The Peer Recovery Coach serves as a compassionate advocate for individuals seeking or maintaining recovery. By modeling recovery and sharing lived experience, the Peer Recovery Coach supports peers in navigating systems of care, identifying recovery goals, accessing community resources, and building recovery capital. Responsibilities include facilitating one-on-one sessions and group meetings, participating in recovery planning, and when appropriate, accompanying peers to appointments. The Peer Recovery Coach will act in accordance with AFRC's ethical guidelines, values, and personnel policies, always promoting multiple pathways to recovery.Qualifications:
Lived experience in recovery and currently engaged in a recovery program or lifestyle. Minimum of 2 years of continuous recovery. Willing to share personal recovery experience in a constructive, supportive manner. Ability to build and maintain relationships within the recovery community. Commitment to the voluntary, peer-driven philosophy of AFRC. Willingness to submit to toxicology screening upon request. Available to work evenings and weekends as required with advance notice. Cross-cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations. Clear or acceptable Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) background check. Valid Colorado Driver's License and acceptable DMV record. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer use. Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and effectively. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct intake interviews and complete all required documentation to orient new peers to AFRC services. Provide one-on-one recovery coaching and facilitate peer-led recovery support groups. Support participants in developing recovery plans and goals. Identify relevant recovery topics and lead group discussions on areas such as substance use recovery, mental health, housing, employment, criminal justice involvement, legal aid, and health care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all peer interactions and services provided. Participate in regular supervision and staff meetings. Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of AFRC events, forums, and outreach activities. Represent AFRC and the recovery community with professionalism and a positive recovery-oriented presence. Perform other duties as assigned.Job Type:
