A Social or Human Services Assistant assists with identifying and arranging community services for clients. Works with social workers and other human services professionals. Helps with rehabilitation for people with disabilities or those in recovery, or coordinates home care services for the elderly; may also coordinate housing or job training assistance for immigrants, veterans, former inmates or families in crisis.

Job Description
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a human service field - or be within 18 months of graduation with such a degree;
- Active progress towards Intervention Specialist qualification;
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation;
- CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to certify;
- Able to pass an FBI background check.
Job responsibilities:
- Implementing a behavior plan;
- Teaching age-appropriate functional life skills;
- Assisting participants in taking part in social and leisure activities;
- Following all agency policies regarding treatment of participants;
- Providing transportation for participant;
- Documenting all services for Medicaid reimbursement.
