Are you passionate about creating inclusive communities and empowering individuals with disabilities to lead self-determined lives? Stone Belt is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Community Connector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing community-based engagement activities and supports to meet the individual needs of clients receiving day services. You will collaborate with local businesses and community hubs to create volunteer and employment opportunities, as well as engaging community-based activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with area businesses and community partners to create volunteer and employment opportunities for clients.
- Collaborate with clients and their support teams to identify individual interests, strengths, and goals for community engagement.
- Plan and coordinate exploration and discovery activities to facilitate community integration and meaningful participation.
- Provide support and advocacy to clients in building relationships and accessing community resources.
- Attend Chamber of Commerce events and other networking opportunities to promote community inclusion and integration.
- Provide training and consultation to community members on interacting with individuals with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in networking or training persons with disabilities.
- Experience in a variety of job or community settings preferred.
- Valid United States driver's license and eligibility for coverage with agency's insurer.
- Ability to travel independently on a daily basis and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to actively listen and adapt communication style to fit the audience.
- Ability to make sound decisions in challenging situations and work both independently and collaboratively in team settings.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
