AWAKE OVERNIGHT REQUIRED
Juan And Sam is seeking a dedicated, energetic, compassionate, and highly dependable Weekend Awake Overnight Support Coordinator / Direct Support Operations Specialist to provide overnight supervision, direct support, household management, operational coordination, and community-based services for an adult individual with developmental disabilities. This essential role combines overnight awake support, behavioral health monitoring, crisis intervention, direct care, medication administration, community engagement, sanitation oversight, meal preparation, and operational leadership. The successful candidate will ensure the individual's safety, well-being, independence, and personal growth while maintaining a structured, supportive, and person-centered environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, physically active, and able to remain calm under pressure while supporting individuals with complex behavioral, developmental, and medical needs. Essential Position Requirements This is an Essential Position requiring exceptional reliability, flexibility, and commitment.
The selected contractor must:
Maintain 24/7 on-call availability for program-related emergencies. Be available beyond scheduled hours when necessary. Accept mandated overtime and additional coverage assignments when staffing shortages occur. Report to work during emergencies and critical staffing situations. Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, accountability, and sound judgment. Work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders. Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure continuity of services and program success. Awake Overnight Support & Behavioral Health Responsibilities Provide awake overnight supervision and monitoring throughout the shift. Conduct regular safety, wellness, and environmental checks. Monitor behavioral health needs and respond appropriately to changing conditions. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs. Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary. Support emotional regulation and positive behavioral outcomes. Collaborate with medical and behavioral health professionals as needed. Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of the individual during overnight hours. Maintain awareness of seizure-related concerns and provide appropriate support when necessary. Direct Support Responsibilities Provide direct, hands-on support in residential and community settings. Assist with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, communication, and self-advocacy. Encourage independence and skill development according to treatment plan goals. Transport the individual to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings. Participate in community engagement opportunities and social activities. Teach appropriate replacement behaviors and support positive behavioral outcomes. Utilize person-centered practices and positive reinforcement techniques. Ensure a clean, organized, and safe living environment. Support development of independent living skills and personal responsibility. Household Management, Sanitation, Laundry & Meal Planning ResponsibilitiesSanitation & Cleaning Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all living areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining areas, common spaces, outdoor areas, and transportation vehicles. Follow established sanitation, infection-control, and safety protocols. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. Perform deep-cleaning tasks according to established schedules. Monitor household supplies and communicate replenishment needs. Cleaning Schedule Management Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal cleaning schedules. Ensure assigned cleaning responsibilities are completed consistently and thoroughly. Assist the individual in participating in household chores and responsibilities to build life skills and independence. Laundry Responsibilities Develop and maintain a regular laundry schedule. Wash, dry, fold, organize, and properly store clothing, linens, towels, and bedding. Change and sanitize bedding according to established schedules. Monitor clothing and linen inventory and report replacement needs. Meal Planning & Food Preparation Develop weekly meal plans that support nutritional goals, dietary requirements, and personal preferences. Prepare healthy meals and snacks in accordance with physician recommendations and dietary guidelines. Assist with grocery shopping, food inventory management, and meal preparation. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards during food storage, preparation, and cleanup. Encourage participation in meal planning and food preparation to build independent living skills. Household Organization Maintain a structured, organized, and welcoming home environment. Promote responsibility, self-sufficiency, and accountability through daily household routines. Ensure the residence consistently reflects Juan And Sam's standards for cleanliness, safety, dignity, and quality care. Medication Administration & Documentation Administer medications according to physician directives and agency policies. Maintain accurate medication administration records. Complete daily shift notes and required documentation. Document incidents, behavioral observations, and interventions accurately. Utilize proper medical terminology and documentation practices. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Operations & Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate daily documentation, shift notes, and incident reports. Assist with scheduling, activity planning, and resource coordination. Communicate effectively with team members regarding client needs and program updates. Ensure compliance with program standards, safety protocols, and organizational expectations. Support operational continuity and maintain high-quality service delivery. Qualifications Required Minimum of 5 years of caregiving experience. Minimum of 6 years of consistent, relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with developmental and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Experience supporting individuals with seizure disorders. Experience working in behavioral health, psychiatric, residential, or community-based settings. Strong knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, and person-centered supports. Prior supervisory, leadership, or management experience preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage crisis situations. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Clean criminal background check. Current CPR/AED Certification. Current First Aid Certification. Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days. Physical ability to participate in community activities and provide hands-on support.
