POSITION SUMMARY
Men's Recovery Housing The Recovery Coach/Peer Support Specialist is an at-will position that reports to the Operations Manager. This position will work as a team member in a recovery housing setting, that serves male residents through support, coaching, and solution planning. This position will provide and maintain a supportive, hopeful, empathic, and engaging environment for individuals seeking help with recovery capital. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Recovery Coach/Peer Support Specialist will provide recovery coaching to people that results in engaging them in ongoing supportive services and communicating the message of hope and the possibility of recovery and healing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Use Recovery Coaching and the Recovery Pathways to maximize the opportunity to create recovery partnerships and a recovery environment Engage and motivate residents served in the recovery housing community Support and monitor residents served to support a comfortable and productive experience Link residents to appropriate aftercare services and community resources Utilize recovery principles while comforting people in crisis: Hope, Choice, Empowerment, Recovery environment, Meaning and Purpose Provide strength-based trauma informed crisis intervention, crisis planning, and safety planning Complete and sign all electronic or hard copy documentation prior to end of shift Assist residents with gaining coping skills and recovery tools Provide accurate and timely documentation in the electronic RecCap system /or paper record Promote a team environment Focus on the strengths and needs of the residents served Work in a recovery oriented and supportive environment framework Complete Service Activity Logs in accordance with organazations standards Adhere to established Quality Improvement Indicators Participate in training and team building activities Comply with attendance and punctuality policies, as well as all other Common Ground policies and procedures

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKNOWLEDGE OF
Substance Abuse and Mental health recovery Current behavioral management and de-escalation techniques Basic intervention skills Recovery orientation and trauma-informed care
SKILL TO
Excellent navigation skills with knowledge of community resources Type, enter data, file, and operate office equipment efficiently Interact well with team members, individuals residents served and vendors Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software and applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Peer Support Specialist or Recovery Coach Certification is required. High school diploma or equivalent Valid Michigan driver's license and clean driving record Minimum 1-year experience working with people with substance abuse disorders, disabilities, preferred Required drug screening
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Environmental Working Requirements:
Work is done in both an office environment with exposure to computer screens, as well as in the homes of the individuals being served; Assignments may require work to be done on an individual basis or in teams with members at various staffing levels. The work environment is that of a recovery house and may subject staff to behavioral and medical events that could be physically hazardous.
Other Requirements:
Local travel required and use of personal vehicle during work hours. Must be willing to transport persons served using personal or agency vehicle.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
