Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), provides an enhanced level of support for persons with mental illness and substance use disorders. Duties include a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with consumers in accordance with treatment plans developed by professional personnel. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI's mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Possession of high school diploma or a G.E.D. required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience interacting with persons with emotional impairments required. Must have experienced a significant disruption in their lives from the onset of a severe mental illness, have received public mental health services currently or in the past for the mental illness (preferably with
CMHA-CEI
), and are now in recovery. Must obtain Peer Support Specialist certification within ninety (90) days of hire through the mandatory MDCH Peer Support Specialist certification program. May be required to use Therapeutic Options when appropriate according to approved agency policies/procedures. May need access to reliable transportation for job related use. Other requirements needed for this classification will depend upon the area of assignment and program need.
Conditional Employment Requirements:
Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance. May be required to possess a valid Michigan driver's license. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours:
$19.85
  • $22.23 per hour. 40 hours per week, Monday
  • Friday 3pm-11:30pm.
Shift Incentive:
+ $1.25/hour for hours worked 5pm
  • 12am | + $2/hour for hours worked 12am
  • 8am | + $3/hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm
  • Monday 8am.
