Activities Assistant Location:
The Valley Health and Rehab | Hamilton, MT Welcome to The Valley Health and Rehab , a premier Skilled Nursing Facility located in beautiful Hamilton, Montana. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Life Enrichment Aide / Activities Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for the residents in our skilled nursing care and our dedicated Memory Care unit. Your primary focus will be to implement engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical well-being, cognitive engagement, and emotional support for individuals in our community.
Responsibilities Tailored Programming:
Develop and implement recreational programs tailored to the diverse interests, physical capabilities, and cognitive needs of our residents.
Memory Care Engagement:
Design and facilitate specialized, dementia-friendly activities for our Memory Care unit that promote sensory engagement, cognitive stimulation, and a sense of calm.
Daily Scheduling:
Assist in scheduling and managing daily activities to ensure optimal participation across the facility.
Community Building:
Facilitate social interactions among residents to foster a vibrant community and meaningful connections.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with nursing staff, social workers, and caregivers to integrate life enrichment goals into personalized resident care plans.
Event Coordination:
Organize group events, one-on-one visits (including bedside activities for residents with limited mobility), and community-focused celebrations that encourage enjoyment.
Inclusive Support:
Provide compassionate support to individuals with varying physical disabilities and cognitive challenges, ensuring a highly inclusive and safe environment.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of resident participation, individual preferences, and feedback on activities.
Qualifications Experience:
Previous experience in recreational therapy, social work, caregiving, or activities coordination is preferred.
Facility Knowledge:
Familiarity with Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
Memory Care Expertise:
Experience working with—or a strong willingness to learn about—dementia and Alzheimer's disease is a significant plus.
Organizational Skills:
Strong schedule management skills to coordinate various daily activities and special events effectively.
Team Player:
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, combined with a patient, empathetic demeanor.
