Job Description

The Classroom Coordinator supports the daily operations and overall quality of assigned classrooms within the childcare center. This role ensures consistency in teaching practices, compliance with licensing standards, and a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for children. The coordinator works closely with teachers to maintain high-quality programming aligned with best practices in Early Childhood Education. •We offer flexibility in this role, with the option to work either a 10-month or 12-month schedule based on candidate preference and business needs. The posted salary reflects a 10-month schedule. Compensation will be adjusted accordingly for candidates choosing a 12-month appointment. Works with and communicates closely with Administration to ensure the overall needs of the families, teachers, classrooms, and center are met Along with the Education Coordinator and Administrative Assistant, ensure center operations when the Program Director is not available Facilitates classroom arrangement and design to best meet the needs of the children, staff and learning environment Monitor classroom curriculum planning and implementation of curriculum Monitor and assist with individual child assessments and assist with meeting and setting children's personal goals Assist teachers with identifying, accessing, and linking individuals with necessary service providers Regularly review and assess classroom service quality Manage the staff work schedule and ensure daily classroom coverage. Communicate issues with daily operations due to child to staff ratios directly to the Program Director. Works closely with the Education Coordinator regarding teacher Professional Development and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in accordance with DCDEE regulations Provide direct support, focusing on children's development toward school readiness goals When necessary, work with Education Coordinator and Program Director to request, identify, facilitate and plan for State Competency Evaluations to assist with the Educational and training requirements of the 5 star license Assist with scheduling and attend State required Parent Teacher conferences as a teacher support and coordinating liaison Offer "in the moment" mentoring and support in classroom behavior management Participate in Part Time and Full Time staff interviews alongside the Program Director offering insight, recommendations and suggestions regarding the potential new hire. Oversee daily classroom operations to ensure smooth, consistent routines Support teachers in implementing curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback to improve instructional quality Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and center policies Assist with lesson planning and classroom organization Monitor classroom ratios, schedules, and staffing needs Model effective classroom management and positive teacher-child interactions Support implementation of social-emotional learning strategies and behavior guidance Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance, incident reports, and developmental assessments Communicate regularly with teachers, families, and center leadership Assist with onboarding and training of new staff Step into classrooms as needed to maintain coverage Minimum Five years' experience in North Carolina, Licensed Early Childhood setting with ages birth-PreK. Must be 21 years of age. Prior experience in a classroom leadership or teaching role required. Must also provide a portfolio of achievements, training, and other information relevant to the position.
