Community Support Worker Rego Park Counseling New York, NY Job Details Part-time | Full-time $23 - $25 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Crisis intervention Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Certified Recovery Specialist Care documentation Recovery peer support Mental health counseling Mentoring Working with individuals with substance use disorders Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a Peer Advocate to support individuals in substance use recovery through the CORE program. In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate guide, mentor, and advocate, empowering clients to navigate their recovery journeys with confidence and resilience. Your expertise in behavioral health, crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing will foster a safe and encouraging environment that promotes hope, stability, and lasting wellness. This paid position offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of recovery efforts, helping to build healthier communities one person at a time. Duties Assist clients with recovery planning and goal setting Support relapse prevention and coping strategies Connect clients to resources (treatment, housing, benefits, employment) Complete timely documentation ( progress notes) Accompany members to community appointments, resources, or activities when clinically appropriate. Coordinate with supervisors, care managers, therapists, medical providers, and other community partners to support members' treatment goals. Qualifications Valid certification as a Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Experience working in human services, behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, social services, community outreach, case management, peer support, or a related field. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
