ABOUT THE TEAM
The Supported Living department provides both at-home and community supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities during morning, mid-day, and evening hours. We focus on each person's individual goal, gifts, and areas of interest as we customize schedules to support people within their communities every day.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL
Supervise Direct Support Professionals. Interview, hire and onboard new DSPs. Manage employees' schedules to ensure proper staff coverage in the home. Ensure the health, safety and well-being of all assigned supported individuals. Collaborate with family's and teams around community, belonging and building independence in the family home. Effectively manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize them. Exercise good time management skills. Ensure that all items on the DSP Checklists and job requirements are completed according to the needs of the individual being served. Maintain documentation on bi-weekly individual DSP supervision and weekly progress notes on supported individuals. Train all new staff in implementing individual Person Centered Plans and complete the necessary documentation in a timely manner. Coordinate and set up a smooth transition for all new supported individuals entering the Personal Supports. Other duties as assigned.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor's degree in a related field; With 5 years' experience in related field and two years of supervisory experience, preferably within a residential or home setting. Or High School diploma (AA Preferred) and 5-7 years' experience in a related field and four years of supervisory experience. Must be flexible to work in the Mornings and/or evenings during the weekday and weekend as needed. Must be sincerely committed to supporting people with disabilities to become active members of their communities, along with the well-being and professional development of direct reports. Must be willing to travel throughout the Maryland and District of Columbia (DC) region. Must be flexible to work from Home/Main-Office and/or in the field. Case management Experience. Developmental Disabilities Administration ( DDA) services experience.
