West offers specialized, compassionate, and life-enhancing care at every stage of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory loss. The not-for-profit James L. West participates in Alzheimer's research and training and it offers a day program, community education and outreach, and mentoring and training to the medical and healthcare communities.
JOB SUMMARY
The Life Enrichment Aide helps to engage dementia residents in enjoyable activities, providing stimulation and socialization. This is a full-time position. The typical shift is 9:00am-6:00pm Monday - Friday.
PERSONAL SKILLS AND TRAITS DESIRED
Good verbal and written communication skills Evidence of effective problem resolution skills Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations Ability to be organized and efficient Ability and willingness to act as a role model in conduct and appearance Resourcefulness Willingness to consider the advice and opinions of others Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the consequences Ability to meet deadlines Basic computer skills Do you enjoy working with the elderly?
