Student Completion General Summary The College Life Coach plays a vital role in advancing Odessa College's mission to become the number one community college in the nation. This position supports student achievement, retention, and completion through proactive advising, innovative coaching practices, and high-engagement strategies. The role emphasizes mentoring, collaboration, and consistent communication to ensure students are supported academically, personally, and professionally throughout their college journey. Specific Position Duties Advise students to include degree pathways, educational planning, graduation requirements, probation, suspension, and TSI liability. Participate in campus-wide student success initiatives designed to improve retention, persistence, and completion. Leverage technology and high-engagement strategies, to connect with students, faculty, and staff. Support students in developing individualized educational plans and strategies to improve academic performance and facilitate timely completion. Monitor assigned students' pace and academic progress and provide proactive, motivational coaching and timely interventions. Communicate with assigned students regularly using a variety of communication tools to promote progress and success. Mentor current college students in skills necessary for success in college, including time management, goal setting, and study strategies. Prepare and present workshops on a variety of student success-related topics as needed. Assist with Early Alert systems and other retention initiatives, responding with urgency to student needs. Develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with faculty and staff to promote a student-centered campus environment. Actively participate in campus activities, including graduation, community service, and college events. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to student success, equity, and continuous improvement. Proficiency in using technology and data to support advising and retention efforts. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited institution. Annual Salary $50,000-$55,000
