Job Description
Job Overview Energetic candidate sought for the Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency program, a grant-funded position. Must have experience working with senior citizens and linking them with social service programs, developing opportunities for living enrichment within a high-rise population, and facilitating programs to enhance independent living. Must possess excellent written/verbal communication skills, social work experience/license preferred. Must have valid driver's license, pass background and drug screening checks. Basic Duties Develop and implement programs based on the HUD Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency program for elderly and disabled persons within our high rise buildings. Requires close working relationship with public housing managers and resident leadership. Requires oversight of the Resident Council function. Performs assessments and determines strategies for residents to follow to maintain independent living status. Provides a wide variety of linkages to agencies. Conducts outreach to expand services to residents. Experience Proven experience in program development and management within social work or related fields. Grant reporting and writing experience required. Direct human services delivery programs or case management, required. Knowledge of supportive services for low-income elderly and disabled individuals. Experience advocating for and linking individuals to needed social services.
