This position has regional responsibility for the adoption program and is available to all staff and the community to offer information and services in the adoption arena. This position works with Regional Staff Attorneys; receives all referrals for adoption assistance and completes a thorough assessment of all adoption assistance referrals for compliance to state and federal policy and law; assesses for child special needs and ability of the potential adoptive family to meet child's special needs, negotiates and executes contractual agreements with prospective adoptive parents; and receives all requests for renegotiations from adoptive parents, and executing renegotiated contractual agreements. This position is the primary contact point for DCF post-adoption families who need assistance with navigating services after an adoption is finalized. This long-term connection for families allows for specific and familiar contact to help support and stabilize families after an adoption is final. This position is partnered with adoptive families to advocate for appropriate services and support for the adopted child in a variety of community systems, including medical, mental or behavioral health, and education. This position educates adoptive families and the community about special needs of adopted children and adoptive families. Qualifications Education:
• If a degree is required, a copy of a candidate's transcript showing proof must be sent to your recruiter following the interview • bachelor's degree in social work, human services, health sciences or related field as determined relevant by the agency.
Minimum Qualifications:
• If a driver's license is required, a copy must be sent to your recruiter following the interview.• Valid Driver's License (must maintain valid driver's license throughout employment)
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed Bachelor Social Worker, or higher, from the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Six months of experience in assessment, case management, planning, implementing and monitoring activities relevant to the agency's programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Security Clearance:
A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.
Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate:
A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law. Unlicensed $51,727.50 / Licensed $54,450.00 annually. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications and experience.
