Please note - The salary range above represents this position's earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $113,715 - $187,275 , based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Children, Youth, and Family Services (CYF) is committed to delivering integrated, equitable, and evidence-based programs and services that ensure children and youth grow up safe and healthy while supporting families and individuals to achieve optimal well-being, economic stability, and self-sufficiency. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Chief to support these service areas. This pivotal role involves providing leadership and oversight to foster an equitable community health and social system that empowers residents of all ages. The position will support the CYF Chief and Social Services Officer. This position also manages staff in our CYF Special Projects, Community Action Agency, and Lighthouse programs. This position will serve as the Deputy Chief for the Children, Youth, and Family Services ( 80% ) service area and will provide support to the Social Services Officer ( 20% ), providing leadership and oversight in efforts to promote an equitable community health and social system that strengthens residents across the lifespan. The position provides ongoing support to the CYF Chief and the Social Services Officer . The position will have oversight of the CYF Special Projects, Community Action Agency, and Lighthouse programs. The position is responsible for monitoring and oversight of program performance and outcomes to identify factors impacting the community and lead strategic planning efforts across CYF and social services and serve as a thought partner to set and execute short and long-term service area goals. This position cultivates collaborative relationships and engagement with community partners, including State and County agencies, Boards and Commissions, Community-Based Organizations, and internal HHS programs. The position will supervise 3 MLS Manager III positions.Experience:
Seven ( 7 ) years of progressively responsible professional experience with Children, Youth, and Families Services or a Health and Human Services-related field, three ( 3 ) years of which must be in a supervisory or executive capacityNote:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.LICENSE :
Possession of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties. If selected for this position, you will be subject to a pre-employment Medical History Review and criminal history records check through the Maryland State Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. An applicant who fails the medical history review or background check may be disqualified from employment for this position. This position has been designated as one for which the incumbent must file a financial disclosure statement (FDS). 5+ years of experience in budget management and program oversight. Experience analysing Children, Youth, and Families Services community needs and making recommendations on policy development, policy issues, and decisions pertaining to customer service needs. Experience communicating complex information to large groups of internal and external partners (e.g., County, State, Regional, Federal agencies; Boards and Commissions; Community-Based Organizations) Experience leading large organizations, programs, multi-service areas, or major process-improvement initiatives Experience cultivating collaborative partnerships with State/County agencies, Community Action Agencies, Boards and Commissions, or community-based organizations Experience conducting or leading strategic planning efforts, including monitoring program performance, community outcomes, or agency-wide initiativesSimilar jobs in Rockville, MD
