Grade 74 / $59,179.62 - $88,768.87

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

The primary purpose of this position is the supervision, management, and oversight of the agency's Child Protective Services teams. This position requires programmatic leadership, direct involvement in operational matters, and strategic planning of social work and other related services as a part of the agency's management team. Work also involves the ongoing review of programs, quality assurance of services, compliance with standards, ongoing supervision of unit supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

o Possess a thorough knowledge of social work principals and techniques o Knowledge of State, Federal and County law, policies, and procedures relevant to Child Protective Services o Sound knowledge base in the legal aspects of child welfare o Knowledge of service functions and tasks specific to all service programs, including CPS intake, CPS investigations and assessments, and CPS In-Home services o Well-founded base in social work theory, child development, mental health related issues, trauma informed practices, systems theories, family dynamics, and management principles o Thorough knowledge of planning the programmatical and operational goals within the agency's network of services to children and families.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :

o Bachelor Degree in social work, human services, or another related field o At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience (or a combination of experience and education) in social work, counseling, or other related field (2 years of which involve supervisory or managerial tasks) providing the necessary knowledge and skill to perform the duties of the position

: o Proficient in spoken and written English o Ability to convey detailed instructions clearly, accurately, and/or quickly o Ability to receive detailed instructions or information through verbal communication o Ability to operate and use systems, technologies, motor vehicles, and machines required to perform duties of this position o Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills o Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills o Ability to select, evaluate, and interpret data from several sources, such as guidelines, policies, and procedures o Strong organizational and time management skills o Strong supervisory and leadership skills
