Job Description

The Assistant Director of Youth Development provides supervision, support, and training to staff that may include School Community Coordinators, Site Coordinators, and Teacher Assistants at Community Learning Centers, before/after school programs, and at summer programs. This position provides program leadership, training, and curriculum development. It ensures compliance with licensure and accreditation and assists with budgeting and data collection. Frequent site visits ensure smooth operations and quality services. The Assistant Director may represent Family Service Lincoln at CLC stakeholders and other meetings as assigned.

Develops annual goals and work plans for the assigned program area and provides quarterly updates. Assists in the development of the agency's strategic plan. Work with school principals and personnel to support programs and staff. Ensure compliance with licensing and Council on Accreditation guidelines. Assist with parent meetings and child behavior plans as needed. Provide coverage at sites as necessary to meet ratio requirements Complete performance evaluations and help staff set and achieve appropriate goals for their job performance. Work cooperatively in the identification and preparation of program grants. Provide a coaching schedule to Site Coordinators, including one-on-one time to discuss issues and provide support. Routinely visit and observe all sites and ensure compliance with licensing regulations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in education-related or youth development field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in childcare, school, or school-related setting preferred. At least two years of previous program management and employee supervision required.
OTHER CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support (CPR) and Basic First Aid certification required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Characterized as medium work requiring exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
