Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Branch Director, the School Age Director supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high-quality licensed YMCA before and after school child care programs. Assists the with Day Camp Director with oversite of the licensed summer day camp programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be capable of carrying loads of up to 30 pounds and able to traverse hilly and uneven terrain without undue exertion. Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust. Perform essential program support to camp activities and programs which may include, but not limited to the following activities: semi - reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, working in narrow and/or confining spaces underground, overhead, and at ground level, twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs, and lying on stomach and/or back. Ability to perform tasks outdoor in different climates.

Qualifications:
21 years of age Minimum of Associates Degree required, degree in related field preferred Minimum 240 hours experience as a child care teacher or center director in a group child care center Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience overseeing a youth program Must meet Wisconsin Licensing qualifications for Center Director; Must meet qualifications for Center Director of 51 or more within 24 months
