Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Stewardship and Volunteer Coordinator is a highly visible, mission-critical role responsible for leading Bean's Cafe's volunteer engagement strategy while strengthening donor stewardship and ensuring the integrity of donor and volunteer data systems. This position serves as the primary public-facing ambassador for the volunteer program and plays a key role in deepening relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners—ensuring they experience and understand the impact of Bean's Café firsthand.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to: Director of Development & Community Relations Works closely with: CEO, Development Team, Communications Team, Program Leaders, and external partners Core Performance Expectations (KPIs & Outcomes) Achieve and sustain a minimum of 250 volunteers per month Maintain diversified volunteer pipelines Track monthly volunteer metrics (volume, retention, engagement mix) Deliver a high-quality volunteer experience Ensure 100% timely donor acknowledgment (receipts within one week) Maintain accurate donor and volunteer data systems Strengthen donor engagement through measurable stewardship touchpoints
Key Responsibilities Volunteer Program Leadership:
Develop and execute volunteer recruitment strategy Build relationships with corporate and community partners Coordinate volunteer opportunities across departments Schedule, train, and engage volunteers Implement volunteer recognition program
Donor Stewardship & Engagement:
Coordinate donor communications including letters and reports Support donor engagement events and tours Track donor engagement and giving Assist in donor meetings and materials preparation
Public Engagement & Storytelling:
Serve as primary greeter for visitors Conduct tours and presentations Deliver compelling mission-driven storytelling
Database & Administrative Management:
Ensure accurate donor data entry Maintain CRM systems (Bloomerang preferred) Generate reports for leadership Maintain confidentiality and data integrity
Skills & Competencies:
Strong public speaking and storytelling Excellent communication skills High-level organization and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities Strong relationship-building skills Proficiency in Office 365 and CRM systems
Qualifications:
2-3 years of relevant nonprofit experience Experience with donor databases Ability to meet deadlines and performance goals Commitment to equity and working with diverse populations
Work Environment & Expectations:
Full-time, on-site in Anchorage, Alaska Fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to work with background distractions. Must have normal range of hearing and vision with or without correction. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time without needing assistance.
