$26.00-$28.00 per hour Housing NavigatorPosition Summary The Housing Navigator is responsible for helping individuals and families obtain and maintain safe, stable housing. Working closely with clients, community partners, and housing providers, this role provides guidance throughout the housing process while addressing barriers that may prevent long-term housing stability. The ideal candidate is compassionate, resourceful, organized, and committed to delivering client-centered services. Essential Responsibilities Conduct client assessments to identify housing needs, eligibility, and barriers to permanent housing. Assist clients with completing housing applications and required documentation for affordable housing programs, including Section 8, LIHTC, and other available resources. Develop individualized housing plans and provide ongoing support to help clients achieve housing goals. Build and maintain positive working relationships with landlords, property managers, and community organizations to expand housing opportunities. Provide crisis intervention and problem-solving support for clients experiencing housing instability or other urgent needs. Connect clients with supportive services, including healthcare, behavioral health, employment, benefits, and other community resources. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in agency databases, including HMIS, NextGen, or other case management systems. Educate clients on tenant rights, lease responsibilities, budgeting, and strategies for maintaining long-term housing. Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers to ensure coordinated, high-quality client care. Attend team meetings, case conferences, trainings, and community events as assigned. Perform other duties as needed to support program operations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Experience working in housing programs, homelessness services, case management, or social services preferred. Knowledge of affordable housing programs, including Section 8, LIHTC, and other housing resources is highly desirable. Strong crisis intervention, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Experience using electronic case management systems such as HMIS, NextGen, or similar platforms. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and person-centered, trauma-informed care. Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance may be required.
