Full Job Description Position Overview :
The
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL
is responsible for the direct care and supervision of children in the Specialized Therapeutic Group Home Program. In order to maintain consistency and continuity of care, this position will adhere to the established daily schedule of activities; implement the behavior management system; maintain open communication with co-workers and administrators and complete all necessary documentation.
Open Shifts:
Sunday-Thursday, 11pm-7am Here's what the job involves : Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to children while maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. Implement behavior management strategies, support treatment goals, and serve as a positive role model to promote children's growth and development. Transport children to appointments, activities, and community-based services using organization vehicles. Administer and document medications, maintain required records, and complete all program documentation accurately and timely. Effectively respond to crisis situations, utilize approved intervention techniques when necessary, and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity of care and quality service delivery.
Physical Demands :
Able to physically engage in restraints. May involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light to moderate weight (10-25 pounds). Repetitive sitting; standing; walking; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping; kneeling; talking; and listening. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to drive.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have at minimum a high school diploma or GED At least one year experience working with children/adolescents. Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) encouraged to apply. Child Development Associate or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Valid Florida's driver's license is required. Successful completion of a background check through Clearinghouse (learn more)
