Full Job Description Schedule/Hours:
M-F 8:00am-5:00pm (40 hours per week) This position is responsible for: Plans, develops, maintains and supports activities to build and enhance The Salvation Army image and ministries within the community. Develops and maintains a marketing plan. Coordinates resources and personnel for fundraising special events and activities. Assists the Corps Officer in cultivating and developing fruitful relationships with corporations, churches, civic groups, and other public entities. Recruits, trains, coordinates, and directs volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and cultivates relationships with individuals, foundations, local churches and schools, civic organizations and clubs for education and support of new programs; performs public contact and public speaking to bring awareness and to garner support for the ministries and services of The Salvation Army. Cultivates relationships with donors in order to develop income sources for present and long-term financial support; initiates and maintains community partnerships with local corporations and area businesses; develops corporate gifts and sponsorships for special programs and projects. Maintains all social media efforts of the Corps ensuring proper Salvation Army processes, policies, and regulations. Assists the Corps Officers in communicating with the Advisory Board on fund raising, special events, and committee projects. Coordinates resources and volunteer personnel to implement year-round fund-raising efforts including manning Christmas Kettles and Angel Tree Toys projects. Prepares and maintains up-to-date records on all volunteers; prepares annual report regarding the status of the volunteer program.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related Business field, And Three years progressively responsible experience in public relations developing and coordinating special events and media relations Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid State Driver's License Ability to pass a background check and credit check.
