Job Description

Job Summary:
This position works within the Community Affairs Unit (CAU) and is responsible for the coordination of agency programs as well as presentations to groups/organizations within the community. The person will assist with all agency programs put on by the CAU and provide additional support as needed to the Community Affairs team. This work will often include evenings and weekends.
Essential Job Functions:
Development, operation, and reporting of various community-oriented programs, including the Citizens' Police Academy and programs designed to benefit seniors and citizens with special needs. Coordination with other CAU members, agency units, and the community to ensure agency programs are delivered with accuracy, integrity, and efficiency. Set up and break down for various events and to seek, secure, process, and track donations and sponsorships timely and accurately. Create presentations to share with community groups and organizations on various crime prevention topics, fraud, and scams.

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Must possess a Valid Florida Driver's license. Experience in dealing with the public and public speaking. Must possess basic computer skills such as typing, email, and Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Effort Required:
The work of this class primarily involves sitting for long periods, walking, standing, bending, stooping, and involves lifting up to 50 pounds of force on a regular and/or recurring basis. Must be able to move classroom equipment and materials using a handcart/dolly. Carries objects such as projectors, cameras, and screens for distances up to 100 feet. Sets up and/or removes folding tables and chairs for classroom settings and various events. Stands for extended periods of time to make presentations. Requires frequent driving to and from meetings, events and other community engagements.
Working Conditions:
Typical office or similar setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. May work in a variety of weather conditions such as excessive heat or rain while setting up, working, and managing an event. Work may require shift work, flexible hours, days, and may include nights and weekends occasionally.
