YOUTH SERVICES SPECIALIST
Camilla Public Library Status :
Part time
Hours:
25 hours per week; morning, afternoon and occasional evening and weekend work
Pay:
$13 per hour

Camilla Public Library is seeking a Youth Services Specialist to inspire the next generation of readers, learners, and library lovers. What You'll Get to Do Create and present fun, literacy-based programs for children and teens Select books and resources to connect young readers with their next favorite story Help lead our exciting Summer Reading Program Create engaging marketing and promotional content Visit schools and community events to share the library's resources Make the library a place where every child feels encouraged to learn and explore Why You'll Love Working Here Make a real difference in the lives of local children and families Design and lead your own creative programs and activities Be part of an enthusiastic and collaborative team that values new ideas Enjoy a mix of library work, community outreach, and event planning Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Youth programming - story times, crafts, activities Help plan and administer the annual Summer Reading Program Compiling statistics and activity reports Participate in activities that promote DTRL in the community Youth collection maintenance and book selection Circulation desk duties Assist patrons with print and computer resources Maintain safe, attractive and welcoming spaces
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid GA drivers license and clean driving record Public library experience is preferred; however, educators, paraprofessionals, and childcare professionals are encouraged to apply Represent DTRL with positivity and professionalism with colleagues, patrons, community partners and external stakeholders Willing to travel locally (other DTRL branches, festivals, school visits, connecting with external stakeholders, etc.) Able to bend, stretch, and move around the library at a moderate to quick pace, with long periods of time spent standing or actively engaging with patrons during programs Able to lift up to forty (40) pounds DTRL is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
