Job Description

Qualifications Required:
Demonstrate stability in your recovery. Successfully pass the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare background check.
Education Required:
Peer Support, Family Support, Youth Support Certification, High School Diploma or GED Your lived experience has the power to make a real difference. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will walk alongside individuals on their recovery journey, helping them recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and build the skills needed to live independently and confidently. You won't just provide support—you'll inspire hope. By sharing your own recovery experience, you'll help Members see that lasting recovery is achievable and that they do not have to face life's challenges alone. What You'll Do As a Peer Support Specialist, you will: Empower Members to develop wellness self-management skills and create meaningful recovery goals. Guide Members in developing a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) that supports long-term success. Help Members identify triggers and warning signs while building practical coping strategies and support systems. Utilize WRAP crisis plans and other recovery tools to help Members navigate difficult situations. Encourage participation in community-based support groups and recovery resources. Help Members prepare for appointments with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, and other providers so they can actively participate in their own care. Support Members in reconnecting with family, friends, and other positive supports to strengthen their recovery network. Meet Members where they are—both emotionally and within the community—to provide meaningful, person-centered support. Accompany Members to appointments, services, and community activities when doing so will enhance their success. Complete required documentation and maintain accurate records. Participate in weekly supervision and ongoing professional development. What Makes You Successful You believe recovery is possible and are passionate about helping others achieve it. You are comfortable using your personal recovery experience to inspire hope and encourage growth. You build trust easily and treat others with dignity, respect, and compassion.

You are dependable, organized, and able to complete documentation in a timely manner. You have reliable transportation, maintain a vehicle that meets company safety requirements, and are willing to travel throughout the community to support Members where they need you most. Why This Role Matters Every conversation, every resource shared, and every moment of encouragement can help someone move closer to stability, independence, and a better quality of life. As a Peer Support Specialist, you become a living example that recovery is possible—and that can change lives.
