Youth Development Professional (Martens Center) 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Champaign, IL 61820 $16 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club 23 reviews $16 an hour - Part-time, Full-time The Youth Development Professional (Martens Center) collaborates with a team to deliver engaging activities and programs geared towards Club members aged 6-11 in the core areas of Character & Leadership, Education & Enrichment, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports & Recreation. This role requires creativity, energy, open-mindedness, initiative, and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of elementary-aged youth. This is an hourly part-time position with a daily schedule of 1:00pm-6:00pm. Responsibilities Collaborate with Unit Director, Coordinator, and fellow Specialists to plan, organize, and deliver Boys & Girls Club curriculum, programs, and activities Provide direct supervision to Club members, actively engaging in programs and services Foster positive, professional relationships with and between Club members Apply classroom and behavior management techniques as needed and report areas of concern to supervisor Prepare incident reports and provide suggestions or feedback on appropriate discipline; participate in conferences regarding youth behavior as requested Ensure daily service reports reflect accurate member attendance and participation Provide and maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment by reviewing programming and facilities and supervising members Communicate professionally with members, their families, staff, and partners to uphold a positive Club image Serve as a role model to Club members, modeling appropriate behavior with respect to attire, boundaries, communication, and social conduct Support the enforcement of Club rules and expectations and provide informal guidance and discipline to members Utilize MyClubHub to accurately track daily member attendance and program participation Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior work experience in a classroom, daycare, afterschool, camp, or similar program or educational experience in education, social work, psychology, recreation, or a related field highly desirable Experience working with youth aged 6-11 Strong youth group and behavior management skills Ability to help youth develop healthy habits and healthy lifestyles Willingness and ability to engage and develop positive relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds Willingness and ability to be actively involved in youth recreational activities Valid Driver's License and be approved by the Club's auto insurance provider Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Ability to lift 50lbs Benefits All part-time staff receive 1 hour of PTO for every 40 hours worked
