Peer Support Specialist

Position Summary:
Participate as a team member in the delivery of behavioral health outpatient treatment services to clients and their families and facilitate the issues of recovery into their daily living situations. Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal, and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements :
High School diploma or GED and participation in the Peer Recovery Training Program Must Qualify as an RSA per Illinois Department of Mental Health Rule 132 Demonstrated deep understanding of the emotional, psychological, and practical aspects of navigating mental health and wellness Ability to coordinate and present lectures for clients, parents, and community resources Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements Belief in the mission and vision ofRosecrance Essential Responsibilities :
1. Adhere to prescribed work hours set by leadership, and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned. 2. Navigate and assist individuals transitioning between treatment programs and levels of care. 3. Actively participate as a partner in the design, implementation, and evaluation of treatment solutions. 4. Provide appropriate behavioral interventions and advocacy for individuals with behavioral health disorders. 5. Provide peer crisis support in partnership with other team members. 6. Deliver peer education regarding behavioral health treatment. 7. Facilitate peer-led groups. 8. Observe and support outpatient group programming 9. Facilitate focal group discussion sessions. 10. Serve as a member of the treatment team and participate in team meetings and activities. 11. Understand and comply with all the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct. 12. Perform all responsibilities in compliance with the mission, vision, values, and expectations of Rosecrance. 13. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer. 14. Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance. 15. Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by leadership.Schedule:
