Flexible hours- Monday through Friday (minimum 8 hours/week preferred)Reports To:
Volunteer Manager About Us Since 1977, Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana has delivered over 10 million meals to neighbors in need- seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, children, cancer patients, pregnant women, and others facing barriers to nutrition and social connection. Responsibilities Assist with daily meal delivery coordination, logistics, and route planning Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and appreciation efforts Help manage client records and update service documentation Participate in community outreach and fundraising events Contribute to social media, newsletters, and marketing campaigns Provide administrative support to staff as needed Qualifications Passion for serving older adults and vulnerable populations Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) Reliable transportation (preferred but not required) Must pass background check Education PNW Work-Study Student What You'll Gain Real-world experience in nonprofit operations and community service Mentorship from experienced professionals Strengthen interpersonal communication (or skills) by working directly with volunteers, clients, and community partners Networking opportunities with local leaders and organizations A letter of recommendation upon successful completion The joy of making a difference — every single day FLSA Status Non-ExemptSimilar jobs in Merrillville, IN
