- Exempt Summary The Housing Supervisor participates in the professional duty rotation for ICC Housing, communicates with the Resident Assistant(s) on duty and contributes toward the creation of a healthy, meaningful and supportive residential environment.
An individual in this position is expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties within the department or college as assigned, and/or as necessary. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree and/or 1-2 years of work experience. Flexibility to work independently with others in a wide variety of circumstances. Demonstrated leadership, strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds. Either a copy of, or authorization for, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required. Understand the Housing Rules and Regulations The ability to maintain confidentiality is required. Other § This position requires work and travel outside of Monday-Friday, including evenings, nights, and weekends to support the goals towards growth in the college. § This position will be supervised by the Vice President for Student Affairs and may take direction from Housing Staff. Essential Duties Participate in On-Call Duty Rotation. See description of Duty below. Communicate with college personnel and Bluffstone personnel Submit reports and other documentation in a timely fashion. Report violations of the Housing Rules and Regulations and the Student Code of Conduct. Report parking violations such as parking in the Accessible lot or in a Fire lane. Attend Housing meetings Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. Attends and participates in all required training. Reports to work at assigned work area no later than the scheduled time to begin each workday. Maintains a good attendance record. Maintains a positive professional attitude and work environment. Model the Way for students at ICC and ensure personal room is cleaned each week. Participate and assist with Room checks. Support the resolution of roommate conflicts. Assist students with lockouts. Ensure students know the fee associated with a Lock-out. Drive a college vehicle to the Airport and certain local destinations. Perform Fire Alarm functions when necessary. Assist in evacuation procedures during an emergency. Performs any other duties as assigned or requested by Administrator.

Responsibilities:
Station yourself at The Villas 1st Floor Desk. Check ID's of all who enter. Students should carry their ID with them. Perform at least three Rounds during your shift. Walk the entire hallway of each floor for Villas & Captains. Between 10pm
- 12am: Check-in with the RA on duty. Between 10pm
- 12am: Check-in with the Security staff member. Within the last 15 minutes of your shift (or before 12pm the following day), submit a Report It ticket
- General Incident on the ICC website .

- Disturbances
- Time Rounds were performed
- Name RA was on Duty
- Name of Security staff member on Duty
- Anything wrong with a building
- Any other interactions or Incidents If you switch your shift with someone, let Housing Staff (Jeanna Cole) and David know as soon as possible and preferably at least 24 hours before your shift.
Additional responsibilities may be added. Enforcement of The Lease rules and regulations: Biggest problems to look for are: Smoking, property damage/trash in hallways, and noise control. Smoking of any kind is not permitted in any area of any of the buildings. If a resident is found smoking in any area it is a $250 fine. Property damage/trash in the hallways is always a battle. Making the residents responsible for their hallway is a great way to discourage damage/trash. Noise control is a battle all year round! If a noise complaint is called in, a $50 fine is added to the account of all occupants of an apartment. Most of the time just a knock on the door will take care of quiet hour violations. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. This position requires that work is generally performed in an indoor setting, in an office which combines standard office equipment such as copiers, phones, computers and printers. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Independence Community College Independence Community College (ICC) is a two-year educational institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It was established in 1925 as grades 13 and 14 of the Independence public school system. In 1967, Independence Community College legally separated from the school district. Construction of the new community college on a 68 acre campus, formerly the Independence Country Club, began in 1969. Classes at the new site began in September 1970. ICC campus is now home to the Academic Building, Fine Arts Building, Student Union, Cessna Learning Center, Field House, Administration Building, William Inge Center for the Arts , fitness center, athletic practice fields, disc golf course, 96-bed multi-structure living complex, and a 200 bed residence hall . By renovating a donated building, in 2010, we expanded our college to include ICC West (2615 West Main Street). This campus is located on the west side of Independence and is home to our technical programs: Allied Health, Cosmetology, and GED/ABE. Additional renovations were completed in 2012 to accomodate our newest program, Veterinary Technology. This state-of-the-art facility includes animal wards, a classroom, lab, surgery, pharmacy, prep room, small animal treatment, food prep, grooming, and radiology. ICC also maintains presence downtown through the ICC Foundation office and by partnering with the Independence Business Resource Center. Currently, our educational and support programming includes 35 programs of study for Associates of Arts and/or Science degrees , 11 programs of study for Certificate completion , Student Support Services , Upward Bound , men's and women's athletic programs, and a variety of campus organizations and activities .
