Job Description

Our client is searching for an experienced Housing Specialist with specific focus on HCV programs. The purpose of this position is to provide operational support for a housing assistance program by administering program services, including application processing, waiting list management, participant eligibility, portability, annual and interim recertifications, rent calculations, and ongoing program compliance. This role serves as a primary point of contact for program participants, landlords, property owners, and management companies while ensuring compliance with applicable federal regulations and organizational policies. Essential Responsibilities Process applications, eligibility determinations, and participant certifications/recertifications. Verify income, assets, household composition, and supporting documentation. Calculate tenant rent portions and housing assistance payments. Maintain accurate participant and landlord records. Explain program requirements, policies, and procedures to participants and landlords. Coordinate portability actions and participant transfers. Prepare required notices, reports, and correspondence. Monitor participant compliance and initiate appropriate actions when necessary. Process rent adjustments, hardship requests, and contract changes. Schedule inspections and coordinate with appropriate departments. Maintain compliance with applicable housing regulations and organizational policies. Provide excellent customer service through timely and professional communication. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Social Services, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 2-5 years of experience administering housing assistance programs or similar case management programs. Experience with eligibility determinations, income verification, and rent calculations. Knowledge of housing program regulations and compliance requirements. Experience using housing management software and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
